We’re proud to announce that our very own Warren Stickney is a recipient of the 2018 Community Inspiration Award from AssetMark. Warren is being recognized for his outstanding efforts and community involvement with the Pike Place Market Foundation.
In the 11 years that Warren has been affiliated with the Pike Place Market Foundation, he has been heavily involved in the foundation from an organizational standpoint. In addition to being on the board of directors, he held a leadership position as the head of the finance committee in 2005 and 2006.
Warren stresses the importance of providing helpful services like housing, healthcare, and childcare to those in the community who can’t afford them. “The less fortunate need an advocate”, Warren says. “We have a method and organization to help them and lift them out, rather than just giving them a handout.”
As community builders, the Pike Place Market Foundation operates and sustains a network of programs and services that support low-income residents, workers, families and neighbors of the Market.
As someone who has been on the frontline of these philanthropic efforts, Warren is pleased with the work the foundation has done to help the underserved. “I’m so impressed with the high quality services that they provide, including a food bank, a free medical clinic, a senior center that served 50,000 meals last year, and one of the most highly accredited day-care centers in the state to serve underprivileged families that can’t afford day care.”
In addition to honoring Warren with the sixth annual Community Inspiration Award, AssetMark is donating $10,000 to the Pike Place Market Foundation in honor of Warren’s sustained contributions and ongoing support in the greater Seattle community. “I’m very thankful for AssetMark for helping all of us who are involved in charity amplify what we do.”
